We employ, on-site, a team of furniture makers and potters, a wood turner, and an upholsterer. Each craftsperson brings, along with individual skills, a special devotion to their art. Following a centuries-old tradition, our workshops and studios take on apprentices who are trained over several years by Master craftspeople. To make a first quality product takes a skill set learned over many years of dedication.
From our craftspeople to our retail and office staff, ShackletonThomas employees share a commitment to work in a small company as a team, as well as a love of beautiful handmade objects.
We work in a light-filled, wooden-floored, post and beam woolen mill on the Ottauquechee River in Bridgewater, Vermont, USA. The way that we respect and communicate with each other while we are working is of utmost importance to us. We have fun and this is reflected in our work.
